Hii King Chiong : Singing Has Huge Potential, Malaysian Singers Can Become Superstars.
24.10.2014--The Honorary President of Miri Harmony Cultural Society Dato Hii King Chiong believed that singing has huge space for development in Malaysia compared to Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries. With concerted efforts in discovering and nurturing talents, it is possible for local singers to become international superstars.
Hii was invited as special guest to the Grand Final of The Voice Of Miri Harmony Cultural Society but was unable to attend due to busy schedule. He was represented by councillor Bruce Chai. Hii said that singing is a good activity for our body and mind. He urged for more active youth participation, pointing out that passion in singing leads to healthy life and harmonious society.
“Singing not only helps to express our inner feelings but also delivers a message to listeners, which would encourage new songwriters and singing talents. Miri Harmony Cultural Society provides the platform for singers to promote friendship as well as enhance local singing activities and levels”.
Hii hoped that singers do not forget their own cultural heritage and the healthy entertainment would create a happy and united society. He also hoped that singers can make new friends and constantly challenge themselves to improve their skills through singing competitions.
