04.05.2018--Penganut Dewa Some Shak Lung Kung Association Miri life honorary advisor Dato Hii King Chiong hoped that there would not be a repeat of sabotaging shows in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14). He appealed to everyone to unite and fully support Barisan Nasional (BN) Sarawak team led by Sarawak Chief Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for election victory which would urge the federal government to give serious attention to Sarawak and return autonomy to the state.

19.05.2017--The Pujut state by-election has been set for July 4 but Dato Hii King Chiong, who once contested in the constituency as a direct Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, has confirmed that he will not participate in the by-election.
17.05.2017--Dato Hii King Chiong declined to make any statement on whether to contest if a by-election for the Pujut state constituency was held. He said he would only comment until after the Election Commission (EC) has made its decision.

21.06.2016--Pertaining to the dual citizenship claim against Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon, direct Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Dato Hii King Chiong expressed regret over Ting’s statement saying that he was not willing to accept the verdict of Pujut constituents. He clarified that he fully respected and accepted the election result but fought to protect the interests of the people of Sarawak and would therefore leave it to legal procedure to find out the truth.
