Hii King Chiong : Collaborate & Expand, Chinese Community To Rally & Establish Common Goals

2.11.2014--Dato Hii King Chiong believed leadership training camp is a very practical and effective activity. He hoped for more similar training programs to drive Chinese associations to collaborate and expand further and Chinese society to rally and establish common goals for good interactive relationship.

Hii was unable to attend the closing ceremony of The 6th Chinese Associations Leaders Training Camp and was represented by political secretary to the Chief Minister, Suzanne Lee Tze Ha.

Hii said that Malaysia is a developing nation with multiracial population with each race having its own points of view. Therefore, in the implementation of any decision, there will be difficulties and deviations.

"Our Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib has repeatedly emphasised on practising moderation and rejecting extremism, which the Chinese associations very much agree to. This is because we wish for a tolerant, united and harmonious nation.”

Hii pointed out that the current situation is worrying as some people are influenced by extremism, resulting in ideological confrontation and chaos.

He believed that the Chinese associations should reach a consensus and build team spirit to lead the Chinese community towards national unity, which is what our Chinese leaders have striven for many years.

Hii was very pleased with the Chinese leaders in our country for their dedicated services to the community. He hoped that the younger generation can learn from the elders and participate actively in social work to build positive sense of responsibility in social services.

He said we must be happy with the opportunity to serve the community with a thankful heart. He hoped that the knowledge and information learned from the training would enhance the quality of social services, given out with true passion and enthusiasm by ‘happy social workers’.
