Hii King Chiong Gives Blessing With A Hug

28.04.2018--Former direct Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Pujut in the last state election Dato Hii King Chiong has appealed to voters to fully support the political concept of Sarawak Chief Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and to vote for BN candidates in order to reclaim more autonomy from the federal government through combined power of the people.

Hii was present at the nomination centre today and said in an interview that although he lost in the last state election, his support for BN would never change. “Under the stewardship of the late former Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem and current Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak has achieved many changes and implemented many policies benefiting the people. What we need to do now is to give full support to BN Sarawak so that we have more ‘bargaining chips’ in reclaiming the state’s rights from the federal government.”

“This time we will not just win, we will win more and win bigger. Unity is strength. Our common will and unity will urge the federal government to give serious attention to Sarawak and return autonomy to our state.”

He emphasised that no government is perfect. For voters, everyone wants a stable and prosperous life but under the circumstances where it is impossible to satisfy everyone, it is necessary to look at things in an objective manner, which is to make Sarawak stronger as the ultimate goal.

Hii said that apart from implementing a number of development plans for Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari is a very good leader and has also continued the legacy of the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem. Sarawakians should be grateful and give full support to BN Sarawak led by the Chief Minister.

He pointed out that the past remarks and achievements of Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari proved that he is a moderate leader and is fair to all ethnic groups. For the people of Sarawak, everyone hopes that he will take Sarawak to the next level and become a model state of Malaysia.

When asked if he would assist BN candidate Datuk Sebastian Ting in his campaigning, Hii said that if need be, he would always be ready to do his best to provide assistance. He explained that this had always been his service attitude and philosophy, adding that he would render his full support to whoever contesting the Miri parliamentary seat as long as the candidate was selected by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari.
