15.07.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman and Majulah Miri founder Dato Hii King Chiong donated RM20,000 to help upgrade facilities in various departments at Miri Hospital.
Following numerous complaints from the public on the lack of facilities, Hii paid a courtesy visit to Miri Hospital and confirmed the need for upgrade of facilities.
Hii together with councillors, Majulah Miri and UPP members today made a courtesy call on Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong and medical staff.
He said that many people made complaints on the facilities including air conditioning problems in superior wards. He explained that they came to make sure the problems will be solved.
He donated RM20,000 for purchases of immediate need and sponsored 100 pillows, a water cooler, refrigerator, 10 foldable chairs, 2 air conditioner units and a television set.
After visiting the wards, Hii pointed out the need for a new and bigger television in the children’s ward for the entertainment of children and mothers.
The foldable chairs would be for mothers to rest beside beds of children in the wards. Majulah Miri will send the items to the hospital as soon as possible.
