Hii King Chiong : Don’t Wait, Get Checked Now!

15.11.2015--Guest-of-honour cum United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman Dato Hii King Chiong said that “Women Hold Up Half The Sky” and pointed out that in 2014, 53.6% of Malaysian women are in the workforce, as compared to 46.8% in 2010.

He urged women to take good care of their health at the same time as they manage both work and family. He advised everyone not to take health for granted because life is short and precious.

Hii made the statements in his speech today at the Woman’s Health Awareness Program jointly organised by UPP Miri Region Women Section, Columbia Asia Hospital Miri, National Population and Family Development Board or Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) and Permaisuri Imperial City Mall.

He emphasised that regular health exams and tests can help detect problems early when chances for treatment and cure are better. He urged everyone to stop making excuses and get checked early.

Hii thanked Columbia Asia Hospital Miri, LPPKN and Permaisuri Imperial City Mall for their great support in ensuring smooth running of the program.

“Many of the working ladies are also multitasking ‘superwoman’ because they have to manage additional roles and responsibilities, as a mother, spouse and caregiver. Women play a very important role in family because they have to manage all big and small household tasks, take good care of husband, educate children and care for them in every way and many more.”

He also joked that a household will temporarily be thrown into chaos if the superwoman in the family falls sick, implying how important women are in families.
