Appeal To Krokop Residents To Forget The Past, “Give Me The Opportunity To Serve You”

20.10.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman Dato Hii King Chiong cares for the people, walks into the people at the grassroots level to help solve their problems and improves basic infrastructure in residential areas for the benefit of the people.

Hii, together with The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Miri-Bintulu divisional engineer Law Wee and others, today made inspection visits on drainage upgrading works at Jalan Jee Foh 8, Jalan Krokop 9 and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Lutong.

The drainage improvement projects at Jalan Jee Foh 8 and Jalan Krokop 4 which cost about RM120,000 have been fully completed and residents need not worry about flooding anymore. The upgrading works not only involved building concrete drains but also shifting of gas pipes etc.

Pertaining to the unsatisfactory drainage system at Jalan Krokop 9, the relevant authority has today commenced construction of 30-metre concrete drain, which is one foot in width and one foot in depth.

Hii sincerely hoped that Krokop residents would open their hearts, forget the past political entanglements and give him the opportunity to serve them.

He told the reporters during his visit today that Krokop is one of the earliest settlements in Miri and is closely related to the overall development of Miri city.

Hii said he shared the sufferings and worries brought up by the local residents. Therefore, he often visited friends in Krokop and hoped to do something for the people to improve their living conditions and environment.
